Dering Employment Services in administration

News found here.

Dering provided employment support to anyone in the UK with a hearing loss of difficulty, e.g. Deaf, hard of hearing and Deafblind folks.  And now they've gone into administration.  Rumours are flying around about cashflow problems forcing them to close, but who knows what the full story is.

I have had the privilege to meet some of Dering's staff and I can assure you that they delivered a superb service that was well respected and held in high esteem by their service users.  Now the (mostly Deaf) staff are on garden leave and out of a job.  That's a horrible situation to be in.
Now that Dering itself is closed their Ddeaf clients are gonna have a lot more difficulty finding jobs, because mainstream employment support provision is simply not good enough for most Deaf people.

At The Rim has also covered this, and I expect by the time of posting this will be all over the Deaf Read bloglist.

This is a sad day.
