Question

Please help settle an argument between the boyfriend and me.

Would any of you comics fans ever consider buying a title based on the Letterer?  For example, Todd Klein?

Your input would be greatly appreciated...

John Workman, maybe. Other than that I'm drawing a blank.

When I saw the post in Google Reader (before notintheface's comment) I instantly said "Workman" as one I recognize...not that I would buy for a letterer....heck, these days with little to no disposable income, the only comics I get are ones that i am in it for the long haul...

Um...no, probably not. I usually don't notice the lettering that much, except in cases where it is especially egregiously bad. Sometimes however, it can be done very well indeed, with the different fonts and coloring and such.

But I usually go by the writer and the artist.

I wouldn't buy a book solely for a letterer. Although I always thought Ken Bruzenak was brilliant in his work with Howard Chaykin.
